Storytelling for Change: A Week Without Driving Workshop
During Week Without Driving Dallas, many of us are learning firsthand what it’s like to navigate the city without a car. But how do we turn those daily experiences — the struggles, the wins, the discoveries — into something bigger?
Storytelling for Change is a presentation and interactive workshop on how to share your story in ways that inspire action. Learn all about transit options in Dallas from the Dallas Bike coalition. You’ll hear from disability activist Maddy Ullman about the power of personal narrative in advocacy, then learn practical tools for framing your own experiences with Dallas transit so that leaders, neighbors, and decision-makers can’t ignore them.
Monday: First Day of 3rd Annual Week Without Driving
When: September 29 to October 5, 2025
Learn more & signup: DallasWeekWithoutDriving.org
In a city built around cars, it can be nearly impossible to travel without one. For the one-third of people in the U.S. who can’t drive due to age, income, ability, or other circumstances, every trip is a challenge. Week Without Driving offers a powerful opportunity for residents and policymakers to experience these challenges firsthand and reflect on what a truly inclusive, multi-modal transportation system could look like in North Texas.
Video Series: 21 Lessons on How to Navigate Your City Without Driving a Car
Never taken public transit before? Or are you new to Dallas? This guide offers everything you need to navigate the city without a car. This series is designed for first-time participants in the Week Without Driving challenge, as well as anyone looking to reduce their reliance on cars.
